The Mecca of Cricket, the cricketing venue of Lord’s, is in the process of having a hybrid pitch installed on the grandstand side of the square.
The hybrid pitch will predominately be used for practice and minor matches as ICC regulations do not allow use of (partly) synthetic turf pitches for Test or first class cricket. These surfaces are not sanctioned because they do not deteriorate.
The new section can be used from May this year.
